Linda Baker

January 16, 1949 - April 14, 2022

In memory of Lynda Baker. Lynda was born on January 16, 1949. She died on April 14, 2022. Lynda was born and grew up in Onalaska, Wa. She spent her childhood playing with her sister, cousins, and friends in the farms, forests, and fields of Onalaska. She went to both elementary and high school in Onalaska, followed by Centralia Community College. She then went to Central Washington University in Ellensburg. Lynda fell in love with Ellensburg and made it her home for the next 50 years. She retired from the university library documents department and spent many years in her beloved farmhouse at the end of the road. Lynda was an artist. She loved to paint and draw, she was a weaver, a quilter, and a knitter. She enjoyed collecting art created by local artists. She loved animals, and cats would come from miles around to eat on her porch. Lynda enjoyed traveling with her sister and her family. She traveled to Italy, France, Washington D.C., and Hawaii. She loved visiting museums and could spend hours looking at a museum’s art - and its gift store! Lynda loved playing cards and games with friends and family. In college, she would get together with groups of friends and play Pinochle for hours. After college, she was always up for a game of Pinochle or Skip-Bo with her family. Lynda also liked watching murder mysteries. She loved snuggling up with her kitties and doggies for a marathon of Midsommer Murders. Lynda was preceded in death by her mother and father, Ira and Emma Baker. Lynda is survived by her sister, Myrna Binion and her husband Richard Binion, and their children Aleta Schuelke and Rick Binion. If you would like to make a donation in Lynda’s name, please donate to The American Cancer Society Contact Myrna at [email protected] or Aleta at [email protected] if you are interested in attending a memorial party for Lynda.
