Sandra Marie Ochs

July 26, 1950 - November 7, 2021

Sandra was born on July 26, 1950, in Van Nuys, California to Norman and Margie (Stephens) Davis. She was the eldest of two children. Her family relocated to Port Orchard shortly after she was born. She attended schools there graduating from SKHS in 1968. After graduating she began her associates degree at Olympic Community College. In 1970 she married the love of her life Stanley (Stan) Ochs. They had two children together, Stacey and her brother Stuart. They were later blessed with five grandchildren: Dakota, Nicole, Malachi, Carter, and Shelly. Sandra always loved animals growing up. She spent quite a bit of her time riding and showing her horse Jodi. Later she raised Shetland Sheepdogs, having 5 of her own always made for a busy home. Once her children expressed the same interest in showing, she became a leader for the 4H club “South Kitsap Pampered Pups”. She became a great positive influence in many kids lives teaching care and training of dogs as well as leadership and public speaking skills. She spent many years at the Kitsap County Fair helping the members of the club compete with other clubs throughout the county. A favorite get-away for her and Stan was to go camping in their 5th wheel, this would allow them to travel with their dogs. They loved exploring Washington, some of their favorite places to visit were Ocean Shores and Orcas Island in the San Juans. Once her children were in school, she began working for Harrison Hospital as a patient accounts specialist. She made some of her closest friends there and retired at the age of 62. When she was not working, she was usually elbow’s deep in one project or another. She enjoyed painting the wood creations which Stan made, as well as going for rides and anything related to Christmas. During the holiday season, their home became magical. They would create large light displays using multiple holiday themed structures they built. She passed away on November 7th at St. Michael’s Hospital in Silverdale. She was preceded in death by her father Norman and her husband Stan. She is survived by her mother Margie; brother Steve (wife Janie) daughter Stacey (husband Stan) and her son Stuart (wife Stacy); five grandchildren and many friends and extended family members.
