Annette passed away unexpectedly but peacefully on October 17th, 2025 at St. Anthony Hospital surrounded by her family. She is survived by her husband John, her son Christopher, her parents Lindy and Keneth, and her sister Carey.
Annette was born in Yakima, then moved to Alaska with her family at the age of 5, remaining there for 10 years. While there, she and her sister learned to ice skate and ski, and camped with their mom and dad. Annette wanted to join the hockey team but wasn’t allowed because she was a girl, even though she was talented and fierce. The family then moved to Sequim where she attended Sequim High School, played the flute, was a cheerleader and got into plenty of trouble when she wasn’t having fun (and sometimes when she was).
She met and fell in love with John while playing darts in Bremerton. They built a home next to her parents in Port Orchard where they raised their son, Christopher. Annette completed her AA at Olympic College and worked as a Bank System Analyst until she medically retired.
Annette was a sun-loving, flip flop-wearing, often swearing, beautiful person. She loved to read, write, and cook. She was a great lover of music, a staunch defender of her views and was never afraid to voice them. She loved to cook and made amazing dishes to share with her family and friends. Some of her specialties included minestrone soup, gumbo, bruschetta, and the perfect caesar salad (with anchovies, of course).
Annette was the person to whom you could turn for life advice and would give her time, love, and her opinion, and most of all she would make you laugh! She loved animals and both she and John took them in, giving them a wonderful home. She kept peanuts by her back door to feed the birds, squirrels, and chipmunks that frequented her porch.
She will be missed by her loving friends and family. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to CHEW Dog Rescue.
