Chelsea Rose Coppinger, 34, of Gig Harbor, Washington, passed away on July 18, 2026, just hours shy of her 35th birthday. She was born to Julie Marie Blankenship and Patrick Smith, on 19 July 1991 in Tacoma, Washington. She was preceded in death by her brother, Matthew Smith.
She is survived by her sons, Cylis Coppinger and Judah Coppinger; her grandparents: Neil and Marilyn Wollam; her sisters, Sarah Clark, Victoria Smith, and Charlotte Swanson; her brothers, Zachary Smith, Skyler Smith, Bryce Smith, and Aiden Smith ; her stepsisters, SummerLee Blankenship, Haley Blankenship, and Cherice Rowley; her stepbrothers, Stormmy Blankenship and David Blankenship II; her adopted sister, Natasha DuBose; her nephews, William, Masen, Cruz II, Oliver, Adalai and David III; her nieces, Addyson and Fiona, and numerous Aunts and Uncles.
Chelsea honorably served her community and country in the Washington Air National Guard, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant. After the military, she went to school to become a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), through her dedication and hard work, she was posthumously awarded her Associate of Arts degree from Tacoma Community College. Above all her accomplishments, Chelsea was an extraordinarily loving and devoted mother whose world revolved around her boys. She cherished every moment spent with Cylis and Judah and treasured her time with her family. Gathering together with her family was deeply important to her.
A celebration of life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on August 2, 2026, at Christ the Rock Community Church, 4100 SW Old Clifton Rd, Port Orchard, WA 98367, with a reception immediately following the service. Donations for the family can be made at https://gofund.me/96ab72c45
