Port Orchard

In Loving Memory of Cheryl Beth (Bernard) Silberman

April 1, 1944 - June 28, 2025.

Born on April 1, 1944 in Seattle, Washington, Cheryl grew up in Port Orchard where she developed the strong values and warm spirit that would define her throughout her life. She graduated from South Kitsap High School in 1963, marking the beginning of a life devoted to family and service to others. Cheryl was one of 13 siblings and was the third eldest, growing up in a large, close-knit family that taught her the importance of love, support, and togetherness. In 1964, she married Doug Silberman, beginning a partnership that would be blessed with three sons: Douglas Jr., Duane, and William (Bill).

As a devoted wife and mother, Cheryl found her greatest joy in caring for her family. She was known for her love of cooking and had a passion for road trips and traveling with her family, creating countless cherished memories along the way. Cheryl was deeply interested in researching her family history and genealogy, connecting the threads of her heritage for future generations. Her creative spirit shone through her beautiful crocheting, made with love for those dear to her, and her stunning landscape paintings that captured the beauty of the world around her. She found peace and fulfillment working in her yard, nurturing her garden with the same care she gave to her family. As a devoted Christian, Cheryl would humbly kneel in prayer each day for all her family and friends, demonstrating her deep faith and love for others. She began each morning with phone calls to her boys and sisters, maintaining the close family bonds that were so important to her throughout her life. Her beloved companion, Tootie dog, brought her much joy and comfort.

On June 28, 2025, Cheryl peacefully joined her beloved husband Doug, son Duane, siblings, and parents in Heaven.

She is survived by her loving sons Douglas Jr. and Bill and their spouses, four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and her devoted sisters. Cheryl's legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Her dedication to family, her generous spirit, her creative talents, and her unwavering faith will be remembered and cherished by those whose lives she touched
