Port Orchard

Colleen Catherine Tomlinson, age 63, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2025, in Port Orchard, Washington.

Born on March 17, 1962, in Bremerton, Washington, Colleen was the daughter of Thomas and Bertha (Blandford) Tomlinson. She graduated from South Kitsap High School in 1980 and worked at a variety of places over the years, including Guthrie’s, AM/PM, and Michael’s. She spent several years at Albertsons, where many friends and regular customers came to know her warm and friendly presence.

Colleen was a gifted artist whose creativity was inspired by the things she loved: flowers, birds, gardens, and the natural world. She expressed herself through many mediums, including sketches, painting, clay, handmade keepsakes, and jewelry. Dragonflies held a special place in her heart, a quiet reminder of her mother’s love and presence.

She was a devoted mother and grandmother, finding endless joy in time spent with her grandsons, Benjamin and Noah. Whether babysitting, crafting, or simply sharing a laugh, she cherished every moment with them. Her pride in them was unmistakable, and her love for her family was the center of her life.

Colleen held a deep appreciation for gardening, which was apparent in the vibrant flower beds she cultivated. They were a source of pride and joy, and she enjoyed watching birds and squirrels gather at the feeders she placed among the flowers.

She was also known for her generosity, especially during the holidays. At Christmas, she crafted handmade ornaments and baked many treats, sharing them freely with friends and family. She always found ways to give, through gifts, crafts, and thoughtful art. Her generosity was matched only by her devotion to her family.

Colleen is survived by her son, Bryce Schubert, and daughter-in-law, Alisha, and by her cherished grandsons, Benjamin and Noah. She also leaves behind her sisters Liz Harkcom, Sharon Sims, Peggy Schubert, Robyn Perkins, and Patty Mount, and her brothers Scott, Jerry, and Larry.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Bertha, and her brothers Terry and George.

A memorial service will be held at 2:30 PM on Sunday, August 24, 2025, at Rill Chapel Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard.

Her memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched, with kindness, with love, and with the quiet wisdom of someone who always knew how to care deeply.
