Donald Ferdinand Schultz

Dec 10, 1925 — Feb 28, 2008

Olalla, WA

Don was born Dec. 10, 1925 in Cudahy, Wisconsin and passed away Feb. 28, 2008 in Olalla, Washington. He was cremated and his urn sat on his wife Jean’s bureau with keepsakes. Donald and Jean were married July 2, 1945 in Chicopee, Massachusetts. The met on the luckiest day of his life as he was fond of saying, on Friday, January 13, 1945. Don’s urn was placed in Jean’s casket September 23, 2026 and laid to rest at Sunset Lane Memorial Park in Port Orchard, Washington.

Don called himself the jack of all trades, master of none. His trade was as a machinist, but he also was a mechanic, carpenter, mason, plumber, electrician, farmer, gardener, rockhound, wool spinner, knitter, and builder. Jean was the wind beneath his wings. Life was one long adventure for them. They were partners. They worked together and had fun together working on their hobbies.

During barn raising, Don and his father, Ferd, would fearlessly go up into the rafters fastening them down. Don learned to knit and spin from his grandmother, Bertha. Don made many sweaters for Jean and spun bunny wool. He would knit while she read a book. He loved to use the bread machine and eat the hot crust. Do loved to tell jokes and give left-handed compliments. He loved playing and watching baseball and his Cubs and the Green Bay Packers.

The Honor Guard did the flag ceremony. Pastor Bruce Duggar gave the eulogy for Jean. The service was attended by Bambi, Paul, and Ariel Morton, Stuart Hudson, Paul F. and Cynthia Schultz, Will Muzzell and Ann McKellan.

Mom was lonely without you. We miss you very much. We were lucky to have you and Mom as parents.
