Evelyn Coon

Evelyn M. Coon, 87 of Port Orchard, WA died May 31, 2011.  She was born June 18, 1923 in Ryndon, NV to Chester & Ruby (Most) Phillips.  She graduated from Twisp high School in WA in 1941.  She married Edward J. Coon. Evelyn worked for 28 years as a Communications Operator at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton, retiring in 1973.  She enjoyed bowling, playing pool, camping, fishing & hunting.  She loved dogs and horses. Survivors include daughters Sandra (Richard) Hay of Olalla, Washington and June (Don) Boring of largo, Florida; brother Chet (Arlene) Phillips in Bremerton, Washington; 14 grandchildren,  22 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces & nephews.  She was preceded in death by daughter Rosalie A.
