Hans Aarshaug

Mr. Hans Aarshaug died of natural causes at Harrison Memorial Hospital in Bremerton, Washington on August 19, 2001.Mr. Aarshaug was born in Norway on May 26, 1903 to Ole Aarshaug and Martha Malvik. He married Lillian Frank on August 28, 1926 in Bremerton. She preceded him in death in 1964.He was a Planner/Estimator at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton for thirty eight years, retiring in 1955.Mr. Aarshaug loved gardening and fishing.He is survived by daughters, Betty L. Beal of Vaughn, Washington; and Carolyn M. Blanscet of Port Orchard; sisters Helen Payne of Bremerton; and Ruth Oakes of Harper, Washington; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Mr. Aarshaug was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Esther Taylor, and brother, Sig Aarshaug.A memorial service is scheduled at Rill Chapel on Friday, August 24, 2001 at 10 a.m.. The Reverend Larry Mead will officiate. A reception will follow the service at Rill Chapel. Inurnment willbe at Sunset Lane Cemetery in Port Orchard.Funeral arrangements are under direction of Rill Chapel, Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home & Crematory.
