Larry Lee Norton, born on January 16, 1954, in Bremerton, Washington passed away peacefully in his home in Port Orchard, Washington on November 1, 2025. Larry lived a full life marked by dedication, love, and memories that will linger in the hearts of those who knew him.
For many years, Larry served as a Marine Machinery Mechanic at the Bremerton Naval Shipyard, where his skills and commitment were highly regarded by colleagues and superiors alike. His contributions to the naval community reflected his strong work ethic and sense of duty, which were first exemplified during his years of honorable service in the United States Army.
Beyond his professional life, Larry was a man who had a deep love for nature, especially fishing. He was a master salmon fisherman spending lots of time fishing on the Puget Sound. Larry enjoyed summer the most from barbecues to camping to gardening and smoking salmon. He found joy in watching movies, going on drives, taking long walks, and cheering on the Seattle Seahawks. Larry deeply loved his dogs, who were often by his side.
Larry is survived by his loving wife, Mary Norton; his daughters, Erin McDermott and JoAnn Sharp; son-in-law, Kieran McDermott; grandsons, Gabriel Norton and Jaimon Norton; granddaughter, Maya Gadberry-Norton; and brother, Bobby Norton. Each of these family members hold special memories of Larry.
A memorial service to celebrate Larry's life will be held on November 15, 2025, at Rill Chapel's Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard. The service will begin at 11:00 AM, followed by a visitation with family from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
Larry will be deeply missed by his family.
