Linda Kathleen Soethe February 6, 1949 – April 19, 2026
Linda Kathleen Soethe, a devoted mother, lifelong volunteer, and kind-hearted spirit, passed away on April 19, 2026, in Gig Harbor, Washington.
Born on February 6, 1949, in Salem, Oregon, Linda spent her early years there before moving to Eugene. She graduated from North Eugene High School in 1968 and went on to attend the University of Oregon, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences.
Linda’s early career reflected her deep compassion for others, taking her to various roles across the western United States. She later returned to Eugene to serve her community through the Oregon Department of Human Services. Her most meaningful role, however, began when she moved to Port Orchard and dedicated herself fully to her family as a stay-at-home mother.
Her commitment to service extended well beyond her home. Linda was a passionate and tireless volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America and at the John Sedgwick school library. She was a familiar and beloved presence at Cascade Scout Ranch near Monroe, Washington, where she spent many summers mentoring youth and supporting the mission of scouting.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Jerry and Helen Adamski, and her sister, Carol Ann Adamski.
She is lovingly remembered by her devoted husband, James William Soethe; her son, James Michael Soethe, and daughter-in-law, Leia Clarissa-Pallin Soethe; her brothers, Jerry Adamski and Robert Adamski; and the light of her later years, her grandson, Owen James Soethe.
Linda will be remembered for her unwavering devotion to her family, her generous spirit of service, and the warmth and kindness she shared with all who knew her.
A celebration of Linda’s life will be held on Saturday, May 30, at 11:00 a.m. at Silverdale Community Church, 9982 Silverdale Way NW, Silverdale, WA 98383. Guests are invited to come as they are, dressed casually, and to stay afterward to share memories and stories over a luncheon.
