Louis Silvio Caretti

Nov 20, 1938 — Jun 28, 2026

Port Orchard

Louis Silvo Caretti, 87 of Port Orchard, Washington, was called home to heaven on June 28, 2026. During his final days he was visited by many friends, he was also surrounded and comforted by his loved ones.

Louis was born on November 20, 1938, to Louis and Margaret (Ruddy) Caretti in Baltimore, Maryland. While he was attending Baltimore Polytech, he joined the Naval Submarine Reserve at Fort McHenry. After high school he spent 21 years in the United States Navy serving on numerous submarines. He retired from the Navy on December 31, 1977, having achieved the rank of Chief Warrant Officer 4. Louis continued to serve the Navy as a Department of Defense Contractor for an additional 39 years, finally retiring in October 2011.

In May of 1958, while spending time with one of his friends, he was talked into going on a blind date with Donna Marlene Deaton. Upon first meeting, they were not impressed with each other. Yet, three months later, on August 16, 1958, they were married. Louis and Donna spent 60 years and 4 days together before Donna was called home in 2016. They were blessed with three daughters, a wonderful son-in-law, and three grandchildren.

Louis, known by many as “Sweet Lou” was a kind and generous man who was well known and respected by the large number of friends, colleagues, and family. He felt blessed to be loved by so many. Those that knew him felt that they were blessed in return. He will be greatly missed.

Louis was preceded by his father Louis, his mother Margeret, little brother Alexander, his infant daughter, and his wonderful wife Donna. Louis is survived by his sister Margeret Demczak, daughter Wendy and son-in- law Ray Killgore, daughter Adela Caretti, grandson Louis and wife Kjirstyn Wicklund, grandson Anthony Killgore, granddaughter Stephanie Killgore, two great granddaughters, Breanna and Natelie Wicklund, and nephews Jim and Steve Demczak and their families.

While we deeply mourn our earthly loss, we rejoice knowing that Louis is resting in the arms of our Savior.
