Margaret Louise (Quaife) Jensen

June 24, 1938 — May 9, 2025

Margaret Louise [Quaife] Jensen, lovingly known as Margy, passed away peacefully on May 9, 2025, in Silverdale, Washington. Born on June 24, 1938, in Spokane, Washington, Margy lived a life rooted in teaching and love, a beautiful testament to her unwavering spirit and dedication.

Just out of college, she began her career shaping young minds as a second-grade teacher at Fairchild Air Force Base. Her passion for education blossomed further when she spent many years influencing the lives of children as a first-grade teacher in the North Mason School District in Belfair, Washington. She had an incredible ability to effortlessly guide and teach, not just her students, but also family members, embodying the essence of what it meant to be a caring, supportive, and composed educator.

Margy was not only committed to teaching but also to her personal growth, proudly holding a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Education. Her spirit was bright, independent, and modest, always leading by example in her professional and personal life. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and cherished game nights with friends, moments filled with laughter that reflected her vibrant personality.

Margy had a unique fondness for pigs, expressed through art and decorations that brought joy to her surroundings. She was also known for sharing the latest internet memes, bringing smiles to her family and friends with her thoughtful gestures.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Robert Jensen, and her dear sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn [Quaife] Lee and Donald Lee. Margy took immense pride in her children—her daughter, Sharon [Jensen] Nelson and her son-in-law, Tracy Nelson, along with her son, Keith Jensen and daughter-in-law, Clarissa Dray. She found great joy in her cherished grandchildren: Scott Nelson, Jessica [Nelson] Colon, Katherine Jensen, Samantha Jensen, and Elizabeth Jensen, who were the lights of her life and the embodiment of her proudest accomplishments.

Margy will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know and love her, including her late sister, Barbara [Quaife] Hopkins, who has welcomed her with open arms. She leaves behind a legacy of love, warmth, and dedication that will continue to inspire those she touched throughout her remarkable journey.
