Patti Bendixen, 73, passed away at home in Belfair on March 23, 2026.
Patti was born on April 27, 1952, in Omaha, Nebraska. She moved with her parents and two brothers to Kelso, WA, as a baby. She attended Coweeman Junior High and Kelso High School, and continued her education to become a beautician. She moved to Bremerton after completing beauty school, and soon after met the love of her life, Bill. They married in April 1974, and eventually settled in Belfair. Their two daughters attended Belfair schools, and Patti took an active role in their various activities- sports, dance, Girl Scouts, and more.
Patti enjoyed her work in various Belfair-area salons, helping her clients look their best, and making friends along the way. In her free time, Patti enjoyed crafting, camping, and listening to music. Patti especially loved the Beatles, both the original version and the cover bands; her favorite album was Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. Her favorite color was anything in a tie-dyed pattern.
Patti’s love for her family was the theme for everything she did, from homemade Halloween costumes for her daughters and granddaughter to hunting for just the right gift in local “treasure stores” (aka thrift shops). She was known to persuade Bill to dance when a good song was playing, and called him “dear.” Patti was also part-time caretaker for her mother, Marge, before she passed away in 2021. She enjoyed the role of auntie and mentor, supporting her nieces and friends with treats and homemade crafts.
Patti is predeceased by her parents, Margaret (Velazquez) and Ralph Abbott, her brother Ralph, her in-laws Ben and Fran Bendixen, and her brother-in-law Bob.
Patti is survived by her husband, Bill, her daughters Carmen and Sara, granddaughter Isabella, and sons-in-law Kwame and Patrick. She’s also survived by brothers-in-law Rick, Randy, and Mike, brother Mike, sisters-in-law Marie and Phyllis, nieces, nephews, and countless friends. Patti made friends wherever she went, with her joy for life, witty sense of humor, and genuine curiosity about people.
A memorial mass to celebrate Patti’s life will be on April 16, 2026, at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Belfair.
