Penney Juliene Anderson passed away peacefully on January 23, 2026, at age 62, after a short, courageous battle with ALS. She was born April 29, 1963 in Yakima, Washington to Clifford and Donna Beatty. Later in life, she was blessed with Lloyd Willette and Sharon Beatty, who became loving parental figures and important parts of her life.
Penney married Howard Anthony Anderson on December 31, 1994 in Bremerton, Washington and is now reunited with her beloved husband in death, whom she deeply missed and carried with her always.
Penney spent much of her life in the Puget Sound area, dedicating her career to caring for others through her work with multiple hospitals and medical offices. Helping people came naturally to her, and it was a role she fulfilled with compassion and quiet strength. For the past eight years, Penney found a deep sense of peace and belonging on Herron Island, where she embraced the slower rhythm of island life and the warmth of a close-knit community. It became her sanctuary; a place where she felt grounded, surrounded by nature, and truly at home.
She is survived by her parents, Donna and Lloyd Willette of Bremerton, Washington, and Clifford and Sharon Beatty of Edgewood, Washington; her siblings, Becky and Tim Ellis of Bremerton, Washington, and Mark and Kelley Beatty of Graham, Washington; and her cherished nieces and nephews, Justin Samstag, Jesslyn Adkins, and Courtney Beatty.
She is also survived by her children, Amber Bitz of Port Orchard, Washington, Jacob Goranson of Lakebay, Washington, and Heather Correa of Columbia Falls, Montana; her beloved sons-in-law, Devin Bitz and Eddie Correa; and her cherished grandchildren, Anders Bitz, Kylie Goranson, Astrid Bitz, Anthony Correa, and Harper Correa, each of whom brought her immense pride and joy.
Known for her quick wit and sharp sense of humor, Penney was outspoken until the very end, always laughing, joking, and finding ways to be silly even in the hardest moments. Her laughter was contagious, and her ability to bring light to dark spaces was one of her greatest gifts.
Penney will be remembered for her resilience, her strength, and her unwavering ability to find joy despite life’s challenges.
A service to celebrate Penney’s life will be Thursday, February 5, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Rill Chapel in Port Orchard, Washington. All are welcome to attend and celebrate her memory.
