Shirley Ann Hower, 70 of Port Orchard, died in Bremerton on March 12, 2012.  She was born March 21, 1941 in Bremerton to Lester & Dorothy (Wyant) Landon.  She married Arnold Hower on February 1, 1958 in Port Orchard. Shirley worked as a Retail Clerk.  She was the first President of the Harper Park Improvement Club and a group member of Ovarian Cancer Support.  She knitted thousands of hats for cancer patients.  Shirley enjoyed her cats “Princess Leia” (furry nurse) & “Yoda”.  She liked sewing, genealogy, and collected bells, angel bells & many others/ Surviving are sons Wayne & Craig Hower, both of Port Orchard; daughter Teresa Bowling of Madison, IN; grandchildren Eric Beckley, Hannah Hoffman, Kirsten Niemann & Jason Hower; great-grandchildren Justyne, Alyssa, Kamryn, Kaytlin, Ashley, Aiden, Evan, Haily, Jordon, Dylan, Alana & Madison; sister Kathleen Myers of Silverdale; mother-in-law Charlotte Hogan; special friends Max & Barbara Meyers of Winlock, Donna Lazzari of Sparks, NV & Gail Allison of Port Orchard.  Preceded in death by her parents. Funeral Service at 1:00pm on Monday, March 19, 2012 at the LDS Church , 1550 Hoover in Port Orchard with visitation 1 hour prior to the service.  Burial at Sedgwick Cemetery will follow.  Online memorial at www.rill.com
