Timothy Glenn Roth was born in Orange, CA on November 8, 1945. He was raised in Dallas, TX until moving to the Pacific Northwest to attend college.
He was drafted into the US Army during the Viet Nam War and served as a Medic.
After completing his college education, he began his early internship and pastoral ministry. He ministered for a total of 50 years in churches in Eugene, Sutherlin, and Albany, OR, the last 33 years being in Port Orchard, WA. He retired in 2023 but was grateful for some continued opportunities to serve in our community.
He served as a chaplain with South Kitsap Fire and Rescue for 30 years, and on the Board of Christian Heritage Home Educators of WA for 18 years.
Tim enjoyed racquetball, beekeeping, and was an avid gardener, growing a lush vegetable and fruit garden each year. He also enjoyed fresh homemade bread with lots of butter, and vanilla ice cream.
Tim’s earthly life ended very unexpectedly but peacefully, on October 8, 2025. He was 79. Burial is at Tahoma National Cemetery, and a memorial service is being planned.
Tim leaves his wife, Ruth, of nearly 47 years, 9 children and spouses, and 15 grandchildren.
